The Journal of Islamic Economic Perspectives (JIEP) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit high-quality manuscripts for publication. Rooted in Indonesia yet global in outlook, JIEP is committed to advancing moral and sustainable perspectives in Islamic economics and business.

The journal particularly welcomes contributions that integrate the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah framework, moral economy principles, and sustainability paradigms, offering fresh insights into contemporary challenges faced by Muslim societies worldwide.

Scope and Themes of Submission

JIEP encourages original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews in (but not limited to) the following areas:

1. Moral and Ethical Dimensions of Islamic Economics

  • Maqāṣid-driven economic policies and development models

  • Moral economy and distributive justice in Muslim societies

  • Critical perspectives on riba, gharar, and market ethics

  • Islamic values in consumer behavior and lifestyle

2. Sustainability and Green Islamic Economics

  • Islamic perspectives on green economy, circular economy, and SDGs

  • Zakat, waqf, and infaq for environmental and social sustainability

  • Islamic finance for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure

3. Islamic Business and Entrepreneurship

  • Halal industry, entrepreneurship, and global supply chains

  • Southeast Asian approaches to Islamic economics and business
